CashBuyerRated helps homeowners check a cash buyer before signing a contract. We publish sourced facts about companies that buy houses for cash, a score that explains itself, and plain-English guides to the contract terms that cost sellers the most. Check the buyer before you sign.
Why we exist
Selling to a cash buyer can be the right call when speed and certainty matter. But a star average on Google doesn't tell a seller whether a buyer has gone quiet, shares a phone number with five other brand names, or is known for cutting the price days before closing. We collect the public facts that answer those questions and put them in one place.
Independence
- Companies cannot pay to change their score, ranking, or reviews.
- Paid features for companies, if offered, are tools like responding to reviews or receiving seller requests. They never affect scores or rankings.
- We are not affiliated with Google, Yelp, Reddit, the Better Business Bureau, or any company we cover.
Editorial standards
- Facts, with sources and dates. Every fact on a profile shows where it came from and when we checked it.
- Claims are labeled as claims. What a company says on its own website, such as “close in 7 days,” is shown as the company's claim, not a verified fact.
- No accusations. Score adjustments describe patterns, like a burst of reviews in one week, and never accuse a company of wrongdoing. We never label a company unlicensed.
- Small samples are held back. Trends, ratings, and scores are shown only when there's enough data behind them.
- We don't copy reviews. We show totals and dates from Google and link to the original.
- Guides cite their sources. We favor statutes, state regulators, court opinions, and standard state contract forms, and use reputable secondary sources where needed. Each guide is reviewed before it's published and shows the date it was last updated.

How we score
The CashBuyerRated Score runs from 0 to 100 and is built from reputation, review volume, recent activity, responsiveness, years online, and transparency. The full method, including every adjustment, is on How it works.
Corrections and contact
If something is wrong or out of date, use the corrections form. We review every request, usually within 2 business days, fix verified errors, and note the date of the change. Companies can also claim their profile.
